Horror Off The Peg
In cooperation with the new team of developers Double Helix Games, Konami, by releasing the fifth part of "Homecoming", is trying to breathe new horror into the survival horror series "Silent Hill"
With “Homecoming”, “Silent Hill” tries to go back to the roots. The new “Silent Hill”, available on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 is supposed to give goose pimples to its anticipating audience.
However, “Homecoming” is only moderately successful. In spite of some new features (positive: the fighting skills of the hero were expanded), the new horror spectacle uses many old clichés of the genre: as seen before on the screen, the faceless nurses, the vicious killing mutant dogs and the good old fog are once again supposed to provide a mysterious and sinister atmosphere... for that reason the survival horror game “Homecoming” is not for gamers who are at home in this genre. All others, who are fairly new to this type of game, will be suitably scared, because “Homecoming” is really not bad.
