Pastors should only drive 75 mph max.

Game over for racing pastors - they should only drive 75 mph max.

In view of the dramatic climatic change, the Evangelical Church in Germany (EKD) demands consequent actions. The manifestation draft, which was discussed by the 120 ecclesiastical parliamentarians of the EKD Synod in Bremen, advocates Germany’s final withdrawal from nuclear energy use, because the issue of permanent disposal was not satisfactorily solved. They demand a speed limit and the promotion of public transport. Furthermore, the Evangelical Church should campaign for the fair distribution of water in the world's arid regions. The synod will ask Evangelical pastors to volunteer not drive more than 75 mph max. on motorways.

“The accelerated climate warming is man-made and represents a serious threat to all places in the world”, states the manifestation draft. Increasing distribution conflicts about land, water and food were all consequences of global warming. However, there was still the opportunity of alleviating the threat “by consequent actions”. Apart from that, the climate change required “a way of life”, the manifestation draft goes on. The target would be a “sustainable way of life” which the manifestation draft calls “4-D Way of Life”; it would orientate itself on the categories “Thanks, humility, thinking and service”.

..and what about the Ferrari of the referend in my town?

That bites! Pastors are always very busy. I am afraid they shall be late to their next weddings or funerals.

Save GM! The Evangelical Church should buy new, slower cars for all pastors. Perhaps the new Pontiac 2009 G5 - equipped with speed control!
